Preserving the Memory Begins with Preserving the Gown

At LaMode Quality Cleaners we have been cleaning, pressing and preserving wedding gowns for 50 years. All gowns are cared for on-site so you never have to worry about your gown being shipped away to be processed.

To begin the preservation process, the gown is checked thoroughly for stains. Beads and other trim are tested for cleanability. Then, the gown is carefully pre-spotted to remove any stains. The gown is then cleaned in a pure solvent and hung to dry.

Once the gown is dry it is then inspected again to be sure any spots or stains were removed in the cleaning process and also to be sure there is no damage of any kind to the gown. Then, the gown is carefully packaged in an acid-free box with acid-free tissue paper to cushion the folds of the gown. Your gown is now ready to take home. One very important piece of advice: store your gown in a dry cool environment. NEVER store your gown in an attic or garage or basement. Temperature and humidity changes can be your gowns worst enemy.
